Our Monthly Message Based in Faith

Message for July

As we write to you, those in Ethiopia are living in the shadow of war, with the fear of Covid and many other worries which we do not know. Each person we have come to know continues to be important to us.

Here is a Bible message for July 2021

When Susan became a believer in Jesus Christ aged 31, she found a bible verse that helped her:

Romans 12:2 says “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”.

I was struggling with life and my thoughts were not always good  and my mind and thinking needed to be changed.  When I found this bible verse I wanted to learn it by heart because I knew it was good because I was unable to change myself.   So when my thoughts were not good  I would speak this verse over myself – and it began to bring the changes I needed to clean up my thoughts and I thank you Lord.

A Prayer to Renew Your Mind

“God, sometimes when I look at the world around me, I feel overwhelmed by anxiety, and my thoughts start to spiral. Oh God, please help me. I need You to change the way I think. Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts, and Your ways are better than mine. You give hope to the hopeless, and strength to the weak. You alone can renew my mind and remind me of my purpose.  So today, help me to take every thought captive as I give You my concerns. Remind me that You are with me, and that You will continue to instruct and guide me.  Counsel me as I reflect on Your Word, and help me to apply Your truths to my life.  Give me the strength I need to do what is right, and help me to pursue You above all else—always.   In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Ethiopia and Your Community

I pray for all those affected by hardships caused by the coronavirus.  For those who have lost loved ones, for those who are feeling lonely, lost or abandoned during this time, and for all those without jobs and facing insecurity.  John 1:5 tells us “the Light of Jesus shines  in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it”

God bless our dear friends and keep them safe.

Our love in Jesus
